It all started with a healthy brass obsession and a starter home we wanted to make our own. In 2015 there were more choices in the market than ever, but it seemed like all the lamps and lights on offer were either too generic or completely unaffordable.

So We Made Our Own... 

We proved to ourselves that we could make custom lights at a reasonable price. And with some great feedback from friends and encouragement from the amazing maker community in Brighton, we decided to turn it into a business.

Spark & Bell was built on the belief that lighting should be a more personalised product. And after eight years, over 120 unique designs, and countless customer collaborations, our commitment is still firmly focused on this goal. We also believe that great design is timeless, so every light we sell is hand-made to order using the highest quality components, built to last, and repairable.

Since we started up our first workshop in Rodhus Creative Studios we've been surrounded by an amazing community of makers in Brighton.  It's in our best nature to collaborate on creative projects, and we're incredibly proud to work with local carpenters, ceramacists, craftspeople and creatives to bring truly unique lighting designs to the market.
